My name is Zak Zeinert. I’m a freelance travel, real estate, and commercial photographer based out of Austin, Texas. I grew up in the suburbs of north Houston and developed an interest in photography at an early age. I bought my first camera when I was 14 and began teaching myself Photoshop not long after that.
I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Photojournalism from Abilene Christian University in 2010. While there, I served as chief photographer for the University newspaper The Optimist and was also rewarded photographer of the year from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
After college, I spent 5-years in Los Angeles pursuing acting before deciding to go back to Texas and back to photography.
I've had the opportunity to work with some amazing businesses, including hotels, start-ups, marketing agencies, and real estate companies. In 2016, I was invited to fly to Ketchikan, Alaska as part of Alaska Airlines' Weekend Wanderer campaign. While there, my photos were deemed impressive enough for the owners of the inn I was staying at to ask me to extend my visit and shoot for them as well.
My biggest adventure, though, came in September of 2016 where I embarked on my own personal project: Rediscovering America - a 6-month photographic odyssey to capture the beauty of the United States. In 179 days, I visited 39 states and 25 national parks, all while living out of my Rav4. I came home in March 2017 with a life's worth of memories and the best photos of my career.
At present I am back in Austin plotting my next adventure.
