Rediscovering America: My Life on the Road

“A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense, and is, thereby, a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety.” – Ansel Adams

It’s about time I finally announce this…

For over a year, I’ve been developing a bold photography project to capture the United States through my lens. The project, entitled, Rediscovering America, will be a three-to-four month long trip via car with the goal of photographing the incredible landscapes, cities, and people of America. It will serve as an opportunity to strengthen my portfolio while also promoting my brand and online presence as a photographer through regular blog posts and photo/video updates.

The idea for Rediscovering America began to form early last year. I had just moved back to my home state of Texas after spending half a decade in Los Angeles. I was at a crossroads in life and the future felt uncertain. However, one thing I knew for sure was that I loved photography and longed to explore the world with my camera by my side.

So that’s exactly what I decided to do.

Now, with less than three-months until my departure, its hard to believe the vision I had so long ago is finally about to become a reality. This project has grown and evolved so much since its initial conception and I can’t wait to hit the road and share my experience.

I have been setting aside funds for gas, lodging, food, etc. in the months leading up to my departure on September 15th.  However, any outside contribution would be greatly appreciated. Please visit my website if you’d like to make a donation. In return, I’d be happy to send you a printed photo of your choice.

I’ll see you on the road this fall
